Discussing and adjusting the product vision with stakeholders
Structuring
Creating and prioritizing the product backlog – breaking down the overall project into story-sized components and arranging them for the development team in order of priority based on maximum business value for minimum effort.
Optimizing
Insuring that the product is delivered in an order that maximizes business value with minimum waste
Focusing
Refining the product backlog with the right amount of information (substantial detail for stories in upcoming sprints, and far less detail in those that will be developed later … and therefore, potentially, not at all.
Visualizing
Creating and maintaining a visual representation of the product backlog that is clear and transparent, giving an accurate depiction of what is to be built next
Clarifying Through Collaboration
Discussing the product backlog with the development team, making sure all members understand what is to be built (to the appropriate level of detail) and making changes to priorities and time estimates based on their feedback
Assessing
Determining whether an iteration of the product has been completed fully and accurately
